New Concord, founded in 1828, is the home of Muskingum University and the childhood home of John and Annie Glenn. Its population is 2,360 and the annual budget, $4 million. New Concord is located in Muskingum County and operates as a statutory village as defined by the Ohio Revised Code (ORC.) Recent improvements in utilities, including a state of the art water system and telephone communications office, have made New Concord attractive to a variety of businesses and high tech offices.
